Sharlene Pincher is tired of trying to get pregnant. For the last three years, she and her
husband Jeffrey have been through numerous rounds of in-vitro fertilization with no
success. So it is a surprise when her doctor tells her she is pregnant, but there is a
glitch. The sperm that impregnated her does not belong to her husband and actually
belongs to someone who contributed to the sperm bank. Knowing Jeffrey’s ulterior
motive for wanting an heir, she tells her uncle-in-law. What is Jeffrey’s motive?

Zack Richmond is trying to keep his family’s electronic business afloat while going to
college. When his foster brother Keith suggests they contribute to the sperm bank for
the needed cash, he feels unsettled about his possible offspring not knowing their
heritage. Upon exiting the sperm bank after making a deposit, he is run over by a
beautiful lady pushing a baby carriage.  Instant sparks fly between them but now is not
the time. Unbeknownst to either of them, they will play an important role in each others
future.

Sharlene moves in to Zack’s rental apartment after leaving her husband when he
refuses to accept the baby she carries as his own. Zack is a gracious landlord and in
time they become great friends. Will either acknowledge their growing feelings?

Ms. Appel has written a sweet story about love and circumstantial events. The storyline
is very believable, making the pacing easy to follow.  There are some sudden plot twists
that surprise which encourages the reader to continue to the fast paced ending. This
book is definitely a keeper.
