Julie is a very successful real estate agent. Forced to look out for her younger sister from an early age, she takes her responsibilities seriously. Though she is attracted to the handsome Patrick, his self destructive behavior keeps her away.
Val is from the planet Toril. He and his crewmates have been studying the inhabitants of Earth. Some of these creatures resist their studies, the latest being a female named Julie. Val has to get closer to her to study her.
Julie’s sister believes that she has been abducted and studied by aliens, not once but twice. Julie is worried about Laura and about the severe headaches she is suffering. Work is also a worry; her boss’ playboy son is running the business into the ground until he suffers a near fatal heart attack.
This story is definitely for readers who like a little sci-fi with their romance. I found some of the UFO and alien information rough going, but that is just because I am not a big fan of that genre. The author presents a very plausible scenario with realistic and attractive characters. The relationship between Julie and Val/Patrick will keep you reading until the end, just to find out if Val/Patrick loves her enough to stay. The subplot of the sister Laura and her romance is very good also. She went from being an annoying parasite to a more stable person. The other subplot of the shady condo deal added a bit of excitement to the story. This is a well written romance with an unusual twist; I do not think I will look at alien abduction stories quite the same way again.
