Jennifer is a strong, capable businesswoman with a deeply troubled past. She has been
unable to find happiness in a relationship. When her mother commits suicide, she gets
custody of a nine-year-old sister she has never met.

Mac is a bad boy with a sensitive side. His work with Child Protective Services has
exposed him to the worst in people. Despite an unhappy relationship, he hopes to find
love in the future. He sees that future in Jennifer.

Mac moves in with Jennifer to share expenses, and they end up sharing each other’s
lives. Together they help Jennifer’s sister Sarah adjust to her new life, and help Jennifer
come to terms with her past.

This is a really wonderful love story. Mac and Jennifer are two flawed people who find
their soul mates in each other. Jennifer has some very real issues to face up to, and
falling in love with Mac pushes her to deal with them. Sarah, and Jennifer’s friends
Rachel and Tom, add depth to an already very good story. Shelter From the Storm is the
kind of novel that leaves you with a really good feeling. I recommend this one highly.
