Bethany Munro once deeply cared for Ian Rockwell. He was the type of man that a woman never forgot then he left on a mission for the crown and the memories faded.

Sir Ian Rockwell comes from an established family. When he attends a ball, he is surprised to run into Bethany. The life he had shared with her, he did not wish to revisit.

Bethany has not forgotten the hurt she felt when Ian walked out of her life. She realizes it was for a mission but that still did not lessen the pain. Now three years later, he reappears. Ian ruined all men for her and now that he is at Whitley Court, he opens all the feelings she had built a wall around. She wanted to bury memories but now the emotions swim through her mind awakening feelings. Ian has been living a dangerous life and now is a suspect in a crime he did not commit. He had been married to a woman who was almost his downfall, and he is lucky to be alive. After Bethany hears he has been accused of a crime, she wishes to help prove his innocence. The closeness they share heats the flames of passion again. In time they find peril in their midst as they look for answers. Bethany finds it hard to trust people who smile for the wrong reasons. A conspiracy, someone guilty of a heinous crime, Bethany wonders who is really responsible and if she can trust Ian after all these years and this time he does not plan to walk away.

Melody Thomas has an amazing flair for writing that blends romance and mystery, here and beyond, in Sin and Scandal in England. Not only does the passion hypnotize but it creates an ambience that can be shared. Bethany and Ian are a dynamite couple that create their own sizzling magic. I kept my fingers crossed hoping they would find their way back to each other. The crisp dialogue after their separation springs forth emotions almost melting the heart. Ms. Thomas pens a brilliant read that simmers and shouts with excitement. The romance and passion is indeed pure magical for this lovely couple as they brave the storm of past memories.
