| TALKING TO TREES KATHRYN SULLIVAN ISBN: 1-59279-468-8 Electronic ISBN: 1-59279-760-1 Paperback January 2006 Amber Quill Press, LLC www.amberquill.com E-book/Paperback $7.00/$13.50 250 Pages Fantasy Rating: Jody Burns is a typical teenage girl. Her life revolves around her friends, the mall, and the things she finds acceptable. When Jody borrows her twin brother’s wristband, someone steps into her life that causes Jody to reevaluate what matters. Peter Burns is Jody’s twin brother and along with his empathic friend Jeanne, has shared magical adventures. Peter is much more serious than his twin and seems to have little use for her. When Twylgalit ripples into the local mall and asks Jody for help, everyone is convinced that the other being has made an error, including Jody. But Jody agrees to help if only to annoy Peter. When circumstances separate the humans, Jody is forced to learn some important lessons about herself while they all fight to save Twylgalit and her people from the evil forces threatening them. Talking to Trees is a fanciful escape from reality. Ms. Sullivan has written a solid fantasy that is both entertaining and enlightening. Although I could see that a lesson was being taught here it was not pounded into the reader’s head, which is a relief. I think we may see more of Jeanne, Peter, and Jody in the future and that is a good thing. Karen Magill Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance Reviewer for Karen Find Out About New Books |
