society women fall at his feet, but it is down-to-earth Jesse that has captured his heart.
The plot develops at a quick pace, hooking the reader from page one with a murder
being committed by an unknown perpetrator. When Jesse is assigned to protect the
handsome Senator, she finds herself torn between her duty as a Texas Ranger and her
feelings as a woman falling in love. This is a well-written contemporary romance with a
spine-tingling murder mystery, keeping the reader in suspense until the very end. The
sexual tension between the two main characters sparked like an electric current
crackling through the air.
Ms. Blaeske clearly understands the inner-workings of the Texas Rangers, creating an
utterly believable world. I especially enjoyed Jesse Walker’s wry wit and self-assurance.
The suspense and romance builds, intensifying into an explosive ending. So kick off
your shoes and set aside the evening for some sizzling romance and hair-raising
suspense.
