Sophie McGraw’s life has been turned upside down. Not only has her husband died, but she has feelings for his best friend. She believes that they can never be more than friends. Besides, what would he think of her if he knew the horrible truth about her marriage?
Erik Sebastian has stepped in to help his friend’s widow, but he has felt something for her since the first time they met. He has immersed himself in his work so much he welcomes the distraction. But can what Kevin told him about his wife be true? It would seem very unlikely as he gets to know Sophie better.
Sophie and Erik find themselves on a sorrowful journey of healing. She, with the many secrets about her marriage and growing feelings for Erik, and he, with his feelings for Sophie and what he believes to be truth about her. Throughout this journey, they find that it is hard to love again after sorrow, but that it is possible.
I think that this storyline overall was good and had two great characters, but I was disappointed in the repetition that the author seemed to use in telling the story. I wish the characters were more developed and had a bit more chemistry. I personally just did not find the spark in this story.
