Sarianna, the Light of Arinpera, is the heiress to the kingdom. She is isolated, in

After a disastrous visit from a less than princely suitor, she knows that she must choose
her husband from one of the three sons of Magnus of Ritvala.
Niku is the son of Magnus of Ritvala and his hostage bride. Like the Forest People on
his mother’s side; he is an agile, brave, and strong warrior with a gentle soul. He saves
Princess Sarianna from assassins and falls immediately in love with her. He is
overjoyed at their impending marriage, but Sarianna is still in danger.
The royal wedding between Sarianna and Niku is filled with controversy. Princes from
other kingdoms and even Niku’s own brothers feel that they are more qualified to rule
Arinpera then Niku. War is threatened between Ritvana and the Forest People. Only
Niku can avert hostilities, and only Sarianna’s love can protect Niku.
I enjoyed this fantasy romance. The lands and people of Hanyanoore are vividly
described. The reader will feel like they are present during the banquets and the
battles. The love scenes were pretty intense. The characters of Sarianna and Niku
were especially well developed and realistic. The plot flows smoothly and quickly never
leaving the reader bored. I especially liked the Prince Julin with his off beat sense of
humor.
