Rafael Saunders is shocked when he discovers his friend Oliver in bed with his fiancée,
Danielle. She explains her innocence but he blames her for the scandal. Now, five years
later, as they attend the same bash he bitterly demands answers. She again proclaims
her innocence, insisting he was the one who betrayed her. When Rafe learns the truth,
he challenges Oliver to a duel, only to discover Danielle has left for America. Will the
only woman he ever loved forgive him for disbelieving her once he finds her?
Danielle Duval cannot believe that Oliver used her to dupe Rafael; her only true love, and
ended up ruining two lives. Now Rafael disbelieves her innocence. After five years of
hiding, she attends a charity ball before leaving to marry a wealthy widower, only to have
Rafe appear shaming her further. Heading for America, she has no idea Rafe is not far
behind determined to reclaim her.
The last installment of The Bride’s Necklace Trilogy, The Handmaiden’s Necklace has
Rafael, the Duke of Sheffield, with the necklace. Five years ago he thought his true love
was unfaithful to him. Now he knows the truth and wants her back. He follows Danielle to
America before she can marry another. He has his own bargaining ideas he intends to
use to win her back. Sorry for his actions, he will do everything in his power to get her
away from the American she plans to wed. They have wasted five years because of
bitter jealousies. Can they seize the moment and begin again?
Kat Martin captivates readers within the first three pages of the story. Will Rafe and his
friends be cruel to the woman who broke his heart years ago, or just dismiss the notion
and pray she will go away? This book was pure sensational joy to read and the
secondary characters really blend in exceptionally with great believability. Ms. Martin
brings fresh new creativity to her books. Her characters stand completely bedded with
all the right elements that make this book a non-stop read full of passionate love - and it
deserves 5 cups.
