Emma Peterson has loved Charles Draysmith since she was six years old. Now he is
back and is the Marquis of Knightsdale. What Emma does not understand is why
Charles is pursuing her when she knows, as the daughter of a vicar, they are not suited.
Charles does not seem to care. Does he love her or does he need to marry quickly for
an heir?

Charles Draysmith comes back after his brother is murdered and has to take his place.
He gets home and finds Emma Peterson there, runt as he used to call her, and now she
has filled out into a beautiful woman. Charles does need to marry but looking at Emma
he finds marriage to her would not be a hardship at all.

As Charles embarks on his campaign to win Emma’s hand, she is trying not to fall for
him. Meanwhile they are wondering about the visit of a man named Stockley, his interest
in Emma, and the artifacts of the Knightsdale Estate.  Can Charles convince Emma to
marry him, and will he discover who and what this Stockley fellow is up to?

This is a wild, witty, and wonderful romance. There is excellent comical dialogue
between Emma and Charles. These characters are full of depth and history, with
secondary characters pulling some weight of their own. You will be captivated from the
beginning. For all of you historical romance lovers, this one is a do not miss.
