feels safe and loved is when she is with Cooper. But when she is attacked and her life
threatened for a necklace, Cooper is determined to return Genevieve to her father
where she will be safe from harm. Life on a working farm is not what she deserves.
Together Cooper and Genevieve are fighting against one man that wants her life and
another that wants her soul. Cooper’s bruised heart makes him reluctant to try and keep
Genevieve in his life, making him a wounded hero. Genevieve is a true damsel in
distress for she has no memory and fears for her life.
The River’s Treasure is a wonderful period piece. The historical aspects were accurate
with the dialogue for the 1830 southern society which created a colorful landscape
painted by Janet Quinn taking the reader back in time to glimpse at how the characters
lived. I would recommend this to anyone who wants romance and escape into another
time period.
