Laurell Cordell has left her home in England to return to her grandfather in Scotland when she is kidnapped. Running for her life, she is intercepted by Conor McTiernay and begs for protection. Her thoughts are on warning her grandfather, keeping him safe and more frequently, Conor himself.

Conor McTiernay never has wanted a wife or children and stands strong to his beliefs even after meeting Laurell. That does not stop him from saying that she is his and his clan can see that he loves her. He vows to protect her and to keep her grandfather safe.

Conor fights the thoughts that travel through his mind when he thinks of Laurell. She is strong and very feisty and more than enough for a man like himself. As they work with each other the sparks continuously fly between them and provide much enjoyment to his clan. He knows there is only one thing to do, he must marry her. When her kidnappers appear on his land, the plan he comes up with could very well kill her love for him. Will Laurell believe him or will she run?

Kilts, castles and kidnappers all very well painted in this enticing picture of romance. Alpha Scotsmen are everywhere and all are enough to send a woman into a faint. Within this very well painted portrait of Scotland is a story of love that was meant to be and the people that were meant for each other. Some pages will have the reader pulling for Conor and others for Laurell. Yet the humor is wonderfully mixed in with the rest and left me with a smile on my face. A lovely story and one well worth the read.
