Gabriel MacBraedon is a warrior and chief of his clan. He desires to break the dreaded MacBraedon curse. By marrying a wealthy heiress, the curse could be appeased and he would no longer have to watch his clan suffer anymore from starvation and poverty but first he must claim Catherine as his own.

Catherine Depford is promised to an English lord but she is not certain she wishes to marry him. As a wealthy heiress in London, she continues to have haunting dreams of another man, a stranger that by just one glance heats her from head to toe.

Catherine has only been eighteen for a week, yet she has had the same dream three times in a row. The place she is unfamiliar and the man makes her body burn with unfamiliar hunger. Before her mother’s untimely death, she forewarned Catherine of the Farlan curse falling upon her on her eighteenth birthday. Scotsman Gabriel knows the MacBraedon’s are cursed, as well as the neighboring Farlans. But he is in luck, because after three months, his bride-to-be has been found in England and of all things she is a Farlan. Gabriel goes after her, to bring her home, and marry her but never fall in love with her. During a ball, Gabriel meets Catherine; unfortunately her father has plans to marry her to another. This does not suit Gabriel. He must have Catherine as his wife. As for Catherine, she only wishes for someone to love her, not lock her away somewhere and take her dowry. Gabriel will do anything to get rid of the curse, but someone from his past may change everything as the couple feels sensual desires beyond their control.

The Night Before The Wedding sweeps the audience into an era where chivalry does not die. I found Catherine spirited and fiery. Gabriel was a hero with vulnerability about him that just wins any woman over. I admire the way he sought to help his clan at any cost. Amidst their sometimes sparring, the couple still has a robust chemistry that shines. Debra Mullins creates a read with delightful twist and turns that keep the reader glued until the dramatic conclusion, which is knock-out. This passionate tale sends a warm feel good feeling from head to toes. Sensual, romantic, and graceful, Ms. Mullins does not disappoint her readers in this gratifying read with an excellent secondary cast.
