Hayden Rothwell knows what he desires and the one thing that is important now, is the beautiful Alexia, and no is not an answer he chooses to accept. He needs her in more ways than one.
Alexia Welbourne does not wish to vacate the house she loves, the house where she was treated as family. But when Hayden offers her a solution, she reluctantly agrees, never realizing the consequences of being in such close proximity with the sexy man.
Hayden is not only a very sly man, but also cunning and dangerous. Alexia finds him sensual and a fine catch for any woman. Then after one simple word falls to her ear, ruin, he makes her blood run cold, especially when she hears he can make her vacate and leave. Hayden does not wish for Alexia to depart from her home, so he offers her a position as a governess. His aunt, Lady Wallingford will be taking charge of the house to launch her daughter into society. Since Alexia has some education for what his aunt seeks, as well as can play music, Hayden believes she will be a great asset. Alexia assumes the role that he offers, but all that troubles her now is that she no longer will live like family in the home, but rather continue there as a servant. Hayden cannot inform Alexia his real motives. She feels as if he has ruined her but after one heated passionate moment, he is compelled to ask for her hand in marriage. Alexia wonders if she should honor his request. Hayden may have seduced her with his sensual charm, but he still had a hand in turning the tables on her life. She does not understand how she can feel anything for such a man, but the more they are entwined in each other’s arms, the passion grows stronger. As the seduction game is played; Hayden begins to wonder who is really seducing who.
The Rules of Seduction is a mesmerizing read. Hayden is one character that will remain fresh in the mind for a long time. All he had to do was take a few footsteps and he sent heat filtering the pages. When he is in the arms of Alexia, the electric sparks oozes and leaps right out at the reader. Alexia is a strong heroine who devises her own plan to prove her worth. Ms. Hunter knows how to draw the reader immediately into the story. No soon than I started reading the first page, I was hooked. The chemistry laces through the pages, with Hayden and Alexia, and an imagery that appears genuine, in everything they exhibit. When Alexia was in the breakfast room, the quaked silence could practically be felt. Ms. Hunter definitely makes her characters fascinating and stimulating. This is one incredible tale that should not be missed.
