Mckenzie Cade had problems with relationships. After her last boyfriend hurt her, Mckenzie decided to go to her “let it be tree”, the maple tree Mckenzie planted as a little girl and went to for all her problems. Mckenzie felt the tree understood her feelings. Little did Mckenzie know that the tree is a cursed tree; a woman named Deidre was cursed years ago and now is the tree of Mckenzie’s. Deidre had been hurt by the man who cursed her, Adam, and Deidre hated all men. Now Jake Bremmer is home and Mckenzie is thinking he may be the right guy.
Jake Bremmer had grown up with Mckenzie. He had moved to the big City thinking he would be happy, but would come back to his hometown each spring. Each spring he would see Mckenzie and he would get a kiss from her. He had kissed her five times but it seems Mckenzie does not remember. Now that Jake moved back home, he knows Mckenzie is the woman for him. But Jake knows Mckenzie has been hurt and it might take some very good loving to prove it to her, and Jake is ready.
When Jake sees Mckenzie again after under her “let it be tree” Jake knows why he has always felt restless; it is because Mckenzie is the woman for him. Mckenzie is feeling very attracted to Jake. She could not remember the kisses before, but the ones he is giving her now are making Mckenzie believe she might have found just the man for her. But neither Jake nor Mckenzie knows of Deidre, who is just waiting to put a curse on Jake. Deidre would put a stop to this once and for all.
This is a superb tale that will have you looking at your own trees in a different light. I loved these characters and this author gave you the depth and history to Mckenzie and Jake and you can feel the emotions and desires for each other. Exceptional plot that unfolds while you are holding your breath, along with very spicy love scenes makes this a story you will want to read over and over again.
