Lila Monroe had a bad habit for being too trusting. She let herself become involved in situations where her own safety took a back seat to the needs and wants of others. This time she may have really bitten off more than she could chew.

Justin Vidal was an undercover operative for the Homeland Intelligence Agency. His main objective was to take down the terrorist group Al Tariq. He did not need or want any distractions in his life, but with the arrival of Lila on his doorstep his life was irrevocably changed.

Lila was running for her life and she had only one person to turn to. A name and an address was her only key to figuring out the horror that she had witnessed. Justin Vidal was that man and her first impression sent her heart racing. Once she told Justin her story he went into combat mode and the next few days became a blur of terror and passion. Betrayal and fear became their constant companion as they fought to save their country as well as themselves. Justin finally felt alive with Lila by his side. She brought a light into his life that he had never experienced, and he would stop at nothing to keep her safe by his side. Lila was willing to risk everything to save her son, even the trust of the man she loves.

This story grips you from the first page and does not let go. Lila is an amazing character. She meets life head on and is an optimist almost to a fault. Justin is just the opposite. He has lived a life that scarred him from a very young age, but he takes duty and honor very seriously. Lila and Justin compliment each others personalities. He keeps her grounded and protected while she gives him the love and trust he has never known. Ms. Ericson pulls out all of the stops in this heart pounding story of suspense, betrayal, and the fight for love, family, and country.
