Josey Cirrini has lived with her mom all her life. She never left since she felt indebted to her for things she did as a child. Now, with the help of Delia Lee, she just might get the chance to start a new life. And she might not care what the small town thinks of the great Marco Cirrini’s daughter. She is finally figuring out how to get her own life and that she must chase after it, even if it means disappointing her mother again.
Chloe Finley loves running her sandwich shop. It is what drives her every day to keep getting up in the morning. Her boyfriend seems to be the last person she wants in her life. She is slowly coming to realize that things can be fine if she is on her own, maybe. Finding a way to make her life her own is what she needs and she is not sure how to go about it. Josey may have the answers for her, but will her books help her along the way?
Growing up as a famous daughter was never easy for Josey. Her father Marco helped create the ski resort that kept the town of Bald Slope going. She wants her own life and she hates being remembered for the things she did as a child. Her one crush keeps her going every day. Chloe wants to find her own life. Since her boyfriend Jake admitted he cheated on her, Chloe needs something new and is not sure where to look. Josey and Chloe meet one day when Josey goes to the sandwich shop to buy a sandwich for a friend. They soon find out that they have more in common than they thought, and a friendship begins that will change both of their lives.
Ms. Allen writes another fantastic story. Following up her previous work, Garden Spells, this book has great characters. I even found myself enjoying this one over the last. There was more depth, more emotions, and even more back lines to this story that really pulled it together. It pulled me from my world and had me flipping pages as fast as I was able. The ending surprised me and I truly enjoyed the twist she presented. This is an author to watch and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next.
