Katerina has come home. Expected to go work at her benefactor company, she defies. She has no intention of entering service to a powerful vampire. Besides, she has no magical powers like her parents to offer him, and her soul is something she intends to hold on to.
Adrian du Lac is an ancient vampire, with many enemies, including Olga, Katerina’s mother. But that does not stop him from desiring the intelligent and magical woman. He just never thought she would humanize his heart and, in doing so, she just might get him killed.
Newly returned from America, Katerina is determined to free her family from their service to the vampire Adrian du Lac. She does not trust him, and with good reason, for everywhere he is acquiring business and is intent on gaining her. Now if her willpower can hold out against the charming man and she can secure her father’s freedom, her destiny is ensured. Adrian knew they were connected, but now he has to prove it to Katerina.
Ms. Rosavin pens a lively story of vampires, betrayal, and revenge. Her characters are both charismatic and sympathetic. Even the dialogue between characters is crisp. Although the trust issues seem to drag out, they are not unrealistic to the drama of the story, giving the reader a strong background to build upon.
