The healing of a man to whom she had an attachment is not an easy thing for Arina. She delves into the problem head first even though she doubts if can save him. Once Charles regains consciousness, he becomes angry becayse someone saved him from dying. At first, he did not want to live, seeing Arina and being rejected by her, he changes his mind. When he saves Arina from assassians, he questions her humble beginnings.

Arina’s history is full of secrets, lies and masks. The story Ms. Spence weaves is full of romance, passion, and the realization that the truth does hold all the answers. The electricity between Charles and Arina is amazing! I found myself breathless and could not stop reading. It is a romanticized picture of the world at that time and I loved the picture she presented.
