Lady Elyssa Wentworth is a thousand year old vampire in need of a new servant, but she has put off finding one because of the secret she must keep at all costs. However, when her old servant sends someone to her, she decides to give him a chance.

Jacob Green put himself through rigorous and painful training for the honor to be the human servant to a vampire. But even he could not prepare himself for the reality of the pleasure and the pain, the denial and the indulgence, of serving Lady Lyssa.

Lyssa is not sure she can trust Jacob despite the fact that he was sent by Thomas, her former beloved servant, because she can tell he has secrets of his own. Despite that, she impulsively marks him, taking him deeper into her world than she thought she would. As for Jacob, he finds himself doing something he never thought he would, submitting to a woman. However, Lyssa’s greater strength masks the fact that she has fallen prey to a disease that affects even a vampire as old and powerful as she. Lyssa has an even darker secret hidden that could bring them both a much more painful death. Can she and Jacob hide this, or will the other vampires find out?

The book is a fine example of Ms. Hill’s work. She takes you places you never thought to go and makes you wish you never had to leave. This story is fully loaded with sexual tension, mixing blood, bondage, sex, and magic with a deft hand. I for one cannot wait until the sequel to see how Lyssa and Jacob’s story is resolved. With Ms. Hill you know you are going to be satisfied, but you will squirm all the way to the end, in the best way possible. The Vampire Queen’s Servant is a dark erotic tale with a sensual bite to wake even the coldest heart. Do not miss this one!
