Diana has just been downsized from her secretarial job. She has the skills needed to be
a housekeeper and babysitter, and has answered a newspaper ad for that type of
position. The other applicants do not look like they are applying for the same type of job
they are all glamorous and beautiful and she wonders why they are looking for jobs as
housekeepers, until she sees the man they want to work for.
Sheridan is the leader of his people. He must marry and have a child with a mortal to
ensure that his race continues. He advertises for a housekeeper/nanny — though he is
actually looking to rent a uterus to produce his heir. He hopes to keep it all professional
and detached, until he gets to know Diana.
A ruler with plans for his heir and a mortal woman with character, morals, and a large
heart clash over their future and the future of their son. The two do not count on falling in
love. Diana has been hired to marry a wealthy man and bear his son. Has she been
hired on for more than she bargained? Can Sheridan detach himself from his feelings
for Diana and take himself and his son away at the appropriate time?
I enjoyed this book a lot. Diana is a wonderful character put in an untenable situation.
The supporting characters are particularly well written and add a lot to the story. It is fun
to see them either helping or hindering the relationship between the two main
characters.
