Gary Short is a writer under the pen name of Cole Manning, but ever since Gary lost his lover years earlier things have been going from bad to worse. Gary knows no one would believe him; but there is a monster that killed those two women and wanted him to watch. It is the Penny Man; and he is always watching Gary and is always around, and Gary is afraid this time the Penny Man will get him.

As Zeke starts sobering Gary up; he begins to learn more and more about what is going on. A serial killer who believes that Gary belongs to him is stalking Gary. Zeke realizes that Gary has been stoned so long, he is numb; and he is not sure what to believe. Zeke begins to care for Gary, and as Gary sobers up more and more he realizes that Zeke is the one who could make him feel again. But Gary believes the Penny Man will kill Zeke, even as Zeke tries to reassure him that will not happen. But as more time goes on, and more things happen, Zeke knows the Penny Man is playing with them. All the while he had men watching out for this psycho; little did anyone know that the Penny Man is a whole lot closer than they ever knew.

Talk about a chiller. This is one bone chilling, nail biting tale that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand straight up. Right from the beginning you are drawn into this thriller by the descriptive voice of the author depicting the brutal slayings; then from there it is terrifying roller coaster ride of so many twists, turns, and drops, that you will feel a little shaky by the end and want to shut your blinds. On a lighter note, the romance between Zeke and Gary shows that anything is possible with a little care and a lot of love. Thrill seekers will definitely want to read this one.
