Jake, already devastated by his diagnosis of being HIV positive, learns his college student daughter Lisa is missing. Worried that Lisa's desire to save a family of wild wolves will get her killed, Jake and her biology professor set out to find her. Little do they know that the trip into the wilderness will evolve into more than a rescue mission.
Nathaniel is not happy that one of his most promising students has taken it upon herself to handle the wolf situation. In seeking out her father to inform him of Lisa's possible endangerment, he discovers an attraction to the other man. Nathaniel knows what it is like to be HIV positive, as he lives with the same diagnosis. He does not intend to enter into a relationship at this time, but his desire for Jake cannot be ignored.
The young are often convinced they can save the world, and Lisa is determined to make a difference in hers. When Jake discovers what Lisa is up to, he is just as determined to save his daughter from herself. Nathaniel wishes to help him. Will Jake and Nathaniel find Lisa whole and safe, and maybe even find each other as well?
I adore same sex romances between two men. Wolf is a prime example of this genre. It is unlike any other romance that I have read. Ms. Black does a stupendous job depicting what it is like to be HIV positive in today’s world. The strength and sensitivity with which she handles these two characters astounds me. This book truly touched my heart, as I am sure it will touch the hearts of other readers. If you are looking for something quite different from the usual romantic fare, this superb tale will fill the bill admirably.
