Andrew Sutter’s life is about to change. His brother, who made his childhood a nightmare, is now dead. At first, he is relieved that it is all over, but he soon finds out that death is just the beginning of the real horror.
Devon Forsythe is a journalist that looks for truth in horror movies. His life is full of hidden danger and secrets; the largest of which even he does not know. Will his own powers help him to protect his lover, or will it make Andrew turn on him?
Andrew thinks that since his brother is dead, his lover and family are safe from the man’s sadistic ways. Unfortunately, death is not always the end of evil. Sometimes it just sets it free. When he gets a strange call from his nephew in the middle of the night, proclaiming that his brother is in the house, he rushes to the rescue. What he encounters awakens magic that had lain dormant until now. He can see things more clearly, especially the unbelievable secret about Devon. He hopes he can prepare for his brother’s return, after dark.
This story sucked me in from the first paragraph. The author crafts an incredibly vivid world without wasting any words at all. From the erotically charged encounters between the two main characters, to the frighteningly realistic villain of the piece, she has created a mesmerizing tale that will make you shiver. Ms Prieto has a gift for the creepy horror that is my favorite. Understated, engrossing, powerfully written, and ultimately one of the best paranormal horror stories I have read in a very long time. I cannot say enough about this book except buy it! I am on the lookout for more wonderful stories from this author.
