Adam is the first man, and he has it tough. He has to figure out all the names of the animals and learn to mate, too. What is the first man to do? Lillith is Adam’s first wife, but she decides that it is too much trouble to teach him how to please her and flees. She will find her own pleasure, without him.
Eve is Adam’s perfect match in almost all ways. However, both of them are innocent in the ways of the love, and she despairs of ever figuring it out. Luckily for her, there is someone willing to help.
The Serpent sees that Adam and Eve are clueless in the ways of mating. He decides to lend a helping hand, among other useful things. The first humans attempt to discover the ways of the flesh without a set of instructions in sight. This leaves them ripe for the so-called help of the Serpent who has his own agenda to follow. Lillith wants pleasure and her path leads her to an unexpected discovery about herself.
While the tale is old as time itself, the author manages to make it fresh and interesting. She writes Adam and Eve as innocents, not victims. With Lillith and the Serpent, she sympathetically portrays them as pawns in a much larger game. The characters are well developed and realistic, without a character being bad or all good and it all comes down to point of view in the end. However, she did manage to turn this old tale into a fresh hot read. The sex is steamy and the emotions involved very much apparent. This is not your Sunday school version of Adam and Eve, boys and girls, but I highly recommend it.
