A TEST OF LOVE
The Solitary Knights of Pelham Bay Book #2

Rating: 4 Cups
When Ryan Kennedy was twenty and attending Rutgers University he fell in love with his biology professor. But after countless turn downs, he dropped his class and left with a broken heart.
Tom Shafer knew how Ryan felt and he felt the same way. But he was his teacher and fifteen years his senior. While he wanted to act upon his desires, he knew that as Ryan's professor he could not and had to turn him away without even a kiss.
Fourteen years has passed since Ryan lost his heart to his professor. When he receives an invitation in the mail from Tom, he eagerly anticipates seeing the sexy man again. But someone does not want Ryan falling in love and will stop him anyway he is able to.
A Test of Love is part of the Solitary Knights of Pelham Bay Series but can be read as a standalone. Claire Thompson has a way of writing that brings the reader into direct contact with the characters and makes their emotional journey seem very real. The way Ryan struggles with his pain of rejection and the hope for more shows how empathetic the author is towards her plot. The strain Tom feels at being Ryan’s professor is also wonderfully described, giving this novel an extra element for the reader to relish. I always enjoy reading this author’s work and this book did not leave me disappointed.
