Caleb Graham has been through so much peril in his last four years. Between being stabbed, shot and escaping hanging, danger could be his middle name. As an ex-soldier and Texas Ranger, he feels it is part of his duty.

Aurora Foster has not only lost her husband, but ends up with debts that must be paid. She keeps his blacksmith shop open to make enough to avoid going to jail for any unpaid debts.

Caleb has a simple assignment—to remove a blacksmith by the name of Rory Foster from a government-owned property. If the guy does not play gunslinger, things will run smoothly. Then again, Caleb is completely surprised to learn the smitty is a woman. Aurora is determined to stand her ground. She will not vacate any property that is hers, so Caleb realizes this time he may have met his match. Aurora is not a squatter and puts a plan into motion to protect her property, never expecting it to backfire and to find a common place with Caleb.

Caleb is an absolutely delightful read. The in-depth characters are top-notch, with great dialogue. Caleb and Aurora’s expressions are spot on. There are times it is as if the characters leap from the pages, and the situations are so life-like. I find this historical romance stirring, emotional, full of love and eye-catching in every aspect. All hands down, Ms. Lang spins a read that has grabbed this reader immediately. She pens a remarkable story hard to put down, one with chemistry that works between the characters, and compassion that warms the heart. The love and understanding between family members, with problems to work out, is unforgettable. The way Ms. Lang incorporates surprise and wide expressions really touch this reader.
