Jon McKinney has just inherited Miller Castle in Ireland from his uncle, Gordon, and finds out that there is something very mysterious going on there. In fact, the body of his uncle has never been found.

Liz O’Doul is a university student in Ireland and meets up with Jon when he first lands in Ballymiller and they hook up rather quickly. Unfortunately for Liz, as she does not get to be with Jon long before he disappears.

Ireland is well known for many magical things, beings, places and the like. The town of Ballymiller holds the castle Jon inherits, and he goes searching inside for the strange things that his uncle has written him about. There is an alternative world where creatures come and go as they please around the castle and the town as well. Jon has noticed some strange beings and was chasing a dwarf when he fell through a window and disappeared right in front of Liz. Now she must get help to find him.

I recently found out Castle is a trilogy, and this is the first in the series. The Fall to Domum and the next installment has just been released. It is a hair-raising ride through dimensions and an alternate world. As I read along, I was amazed that every page seems to add another gem or facet to the ensemble cast or maybe a glimpse in the workings of how Uncle Gordon was exploring and explaining the who, what, when, where, why and how of this other world. If you like Science Fiction or Fantasy, I am betting you will love this tale since you never know from one page to the next what will happen, or who will be involved, or even what might have happened to Uncle Gordon, or if Jon makes it back in this book. You should enjoy this magical journey.
