CRYING FOR THE MOON
Rating: 5 Cups
Alexei is a vampire who has decided to give up what paranormals call “the life.” In spite of this, he still drinks blood, and still has a coffin. However, he is doing his best to not use the coffin which keeps him eternally young and healthy, because it also causes him to become something less than human.
Tate is a veterinarian that lives close to Alexei’s new house, and who has no qualms about offering his help to the very sexy, and attractive Alexei. He even likes Alexei’s werewolf buddies.
With Tate’s first introduction of himself, Alexei finds himself terribly attracted to the human vet, even though he knows deep down he cannot have him. After all, he left the life to get away from it, and a former lover who he knows will come after him eventually. Getting involved with Tate could put him in danger. Alexei’s werewolf buddies are strong and can handle themselves and another vampire, but a lone human could both be harmed and used against him. Initially, he balks at starting a relationship with Tate, but eventually each cannot deny the powerful attraction to the other. Will Alexei, Tate, and a pack of werewolves be enough to stop a vampire bent on getting Alexei back?
I LOVED Crying for the Moon! Ms. Madison creates a paranormal world unlike any other. Coffins are receptacles that are genetically attached to particular vampire families, new types of shifters are introduced, and the age old war between vampires, and werewolves is put on hold while friendships are created. Oh, and love is the common denominator, both the love of friends and the love of lovers. The relationships are strong and bold; they stand out and loved ones stand up for each other no matter the cost. Forgiveness is a big part of this story as well, and helps to drive storyline. This is truly a treasure of a book that I know I will be reading over and over again. If you are looking for a book that will tug at your heartstrings, as well as, grab you by the throat, then pick up your copy of Crying for the Moon today!
