Dante’s Relic is a really good paranormal adventure story with a highly entertaining
look at angels, curses, and demons combined for a wonderful romance.
To save the world Dante, an angel, is trapped underground with a demon. When
Cammie, a noted archeologist discovers the relic that holds them Dante, the demon,
and a curse are released. Together Dante and Cammie must fight against the demon
to protect the world and humanity. As the battle for good and evil moves to a finale,
Cammie and Dante realize how strong the romantic feelings they have for one
another have grown.
Dante’s character is joyously full of life, and I enjoyed his thrill at every new experience
especially sex. Readers will truly care for him. Cammie’s reactions to having her
logical world torn out from underneath her were priceless. It took Cammie a long time
to except the concept of angels and demons, but this part of the novel was so well
written that readers will completely empathize with her need to logically explain the
bizarre events surrounding her.
I also enjoyed the horror that the demon, Damien, brought to the story. One of my
favorite parts of the book was his attempt to justify his evilness. This was especially
well done. Another wonderful part of the book is the romance. The love scenes are
excellent, hot, and very unusual for what I thought an angel might like.
There are a large number of “visions” in the book and readers must pay attention to all
of them or they will become confused quickly. You cannot read ahead just because
you are anxious to see what happens next. The story is so good, and you really want
to know how it ends.
Watching an earthbound angel and a scientific-minded archeologist work together to
defeat a demon was a wonderful way to spend an evening. For readers who love
exciting paranormal adventure romances this book is a definite keeper.
