Corinne Bishop had a good life with a wealthy and happy family when her idyllic life turned into a nightmare. Kidnapped by a vicious vampire, Dragos turned her life upside down as she was raped, tortured, and used in scientific experiments so he could make the perfect soldiers.
When he first spots her, Hunter is enthralled with the beautiful woman. After years of her being in captivity, it is his job to take her home to her family that thought she was dead.
What begins as a simple journey turns into something more when Corinne finds herself unable to trust anyone but Hunter. They soon find they are running for their lives as they play a cat and mouse game with Dragos and his entourage of deadly adversaries. Will Corinne and Hunter be able to survive the encounters with the enemy? What will happen when they realize that they each hold secrets that will change everything?
Whenever I pick up a new novel by Ms. Adrian I find myself in a personal utopia as I immerse myself in the world of Breeds and Breedmates. Deeper than Midnight is such a compelling story as I watch Corinne fight her attraction for Hunter, the fear she has to live with due to her captivity, and the secret that will complicate everything. The characters and plot are strong and vibrant and the details given within the pages allow the reader to submerge themselves completely in this brilliant novel. This is part of a series, and though you do not need to read the whole series to understand this book, I would recommend you do just because they are a group of action-packed, kick-butt, steamy reads. Whether you are a longtime fan or just discovering this tantalizing author, you will soon find yourself completely and utterly caught within these magnetizing pages.
Caution: While it does not go into detail, rape is mentioned along with a strobe-light like effect of some of Corinne’s attacks.
