Morgan Shaw thought her marriage would be filled with flowers, champagne, romance and lingering passion but after ten years, husband Adam keeps chained to his work. Of course a year ago, she, too was a workaholic wishing to make all her financial dreams come real.
Adam, a Wall Street banker keeps his head buried in his job often neglecting time with his wife. Now things are about to alter.
Morgan admires and respects Adam. He is thoughtful, gentle, opens doors for her and when they go out to eat, he pulls the chair out for her, not to mention helping her with her coat. But one thing is missing in their marriage and she desires that one part of him badly. The only answer is complete seduction to bring the passion back, even if it is daring and capricious. Adam is all for a new shift in his life but not the obsession that enters Morgan when the mysterious White Star amulet is no longer in the possession of the NYPD. She had long carried the box to the amulet ever since finding it in the basement of her antique shop and the desire to unlock the mystery still intrigues her. Adam thinks that her infatuation for the amulet is wrong but since she holds the box that carries it, she is eager to get to the truth about the amulet. A killer also wants the amulet and will stop at nothing to get it; even waiting in anticipation, with limited patience, to lure her in, and then strike at the right moment. The killer has killed before and will not hesitate to do it again if necessary. As Morgan and Adam plan a new start, with endless erotic passion, someone is determined to halt their happiness and interrupt their second honeymoon to France and this time Adam’s job is not the only thing that may cancel their jubilant plans.
Destiny’s Hand is an intense read that spins an intriguing web of twists and turns as mysteries to a legend inspire answers. Morgan’s strong will, along with her love for Adam, is deep but her curiosity often is stronger. She and Adam are like any couple that seeks to put zing back into their marriage that has slowly flamed to nothing. Ms. Wilde continues Morgan’s story with the legend of the amulet in this delightful tale that takes the reader on an interesting journey with a dastardly villain. She also mentions Cass Richards and Detective Sam Mason from the first book. As she places her characters in jeopardy, emotions elevate and electricity shocks between Adam and Morgan. This reader found this spellbinding read most enjoyable with the well-developed characters and fast-paced drama. I look forward to more of Ms. Wilde’s fascinating ventures.
