Xandra is a vampire slayer working for a top secret agency. The director, Jeremy, has been like a father to her since her mother’s murder. She is a workaholic with no time for friends or romance, except for her best friend Alix.

Dante is a police officer and a vampire; the vampire liason for the police department. He distrusts Xandra’s agency, but feels protective towards and an attraction to the beautiful vampire slayer.

Feral vampires are plaguing the city and someone is making them as fast as Xandra and her coworkers can eradicate them. Her assignments keep getting more and more dangerous, and backup less and less reliable. The vampire liason who seems to be shadowing her seems more trustworthy than her boss right now. He is not a typical vampire and she is irresistibly attracted to him.

This exciting story kept me on the edge of my seat from the start. There are so many mysteries surrounding the two main characters that this aspect of the story alone kept me riveted. The scorching hot love story between the two main characters was the real draw however. I found Dante fascinating and the author keeps us wondering exactly what he is and Xandra’s origins are equally mysterious. The plot is action packed and more than a little violent, but never boring. I was sorry to get to the end.
