Bree O'Brien has always understood gardening. When she receives the phone call to return home and work at the Inn at Eagle Point, nothing could please her more, especially when she needs distance from playwright and lover, Martin Demming.
Jake Collins owns Shores Nursery and Landscaping. He has not forgotten how Bree left him years ago. When he discovers she has returned, he really does not care to talk to her again.
Bree puts her job as playwright on hold and returns home to be with family, excited to be returning to Chesapeake Shores. After Jake hears that Bree is back, he plans to stay out of her way. He knows she has been enjoying a cozy and friendly life with Martin. Bree loves being home but it brings back painful memories of the real reason she left, especially when she sees Jake. She decides to stay clear of him. Unfortunately, that will be hard since she wishes to showcase flowers in her shop and must get them from his nursery. Can the two salvage the lost years and bring back the love they hold within their hearts for each other?
I found Flowers on Main a stirring read. The multi-players made this feel more like a huge family opening their arms to the reader to join in on the festivities. The shop appeared so real it made me want to go in and buy flowers. Even the scent of all the lovely plants seems to leap from the pages. I love the characters of Bree and Jake. They are down home people who feel like next door neighbors. Sherryl Woods crafts a splendid story of love, family, and togetherness. She shows how people sometimes have to look deep in their heart to find the important things that are missing. Her splendid way of telling a tale, left me so absorbed that I want more.
