Making it solo has been much more difficult than Tucker O’Connell had hoped, and now he is home licking his wounds. Years ago Ian Masterson gave him his inspiration for Tuck & Tumble’s one hit wonder, but coming home and reuniting with Ian is not what he is expecting.
Small towns can be a hard place to survive for a young gay man, but firefighter Austin Walker has had no complaints. He has always been pretty comfortable with playing the field, but after meeting Joey Silva, he begins to wonder what a real relationship would feel like.
Austin is a rookie firefighter for White Pine, and though he has great instincts, he knows he lacks confidence. Joey is everything Austin wants to be, and he is so unbelievably sexy that Austin cannot keep his hands off of the man. Tucker’s ambivalence toward his parents made leaving White Pine pretty easy, but what he regrets is how he left things with Ian. What they shared was special, but very brief, and now Tucker is faced with the possibility that Ian’s feelings may run entirely too deep.
Four men, two love affairs, and a whole town ready to roast them or toast them. It will certainly keep you on your toes following the incendiary sex-capades of Austin, Joey, Tucker, and Ian. Austin is so young and impressionable, he feels like a broken heart waiting to happen, and Tucker seems so lost that you just want to hold him close. They have heart and compassion, and for me this is the real gem to this story.
