HER BABY OUT OF THE BLUE
Harlequin Enterprises, Limited
Contemporary Romance/ Medical Series
Rating: 3 Cups
Dr. Jane Walters has chosen not to have children. So when her donated eggs did not promote pregnancy in Izzy, her best friend, she was secretly relieved.
Dylan McKenzie has just lost his brother and his sister-in-law. Now he has a beautiful six week old niece to think about.
When Jane first spies Dylan, she assumes he is someone who probably rides a Harley and plays guitar. When he tells her that the little girl in his arms is her biological daughter, she is stunned. To find out Izzy and her husband have died breaks her heart but she does not want to even think about raising a daughter. But when Dylan insists she spend some time with Sophie, Jane hesitantly agrees but only to prove to him that she is not mother material.
Ms. Roberts is a good storyteller. Her Baby Out of the Blue is a compelling tale of how Jane has her life mapped out for her, only to find her world crashing around her. I thought that using the concept of a secret daughter through the mother added a unique flair to the story. Watching Jane learn to accept motherhood through trials and errors brought a realistic view to the novel. This was a nice read.
