Alex is a culinary genius, but her luck lately has gone completely awry. From wrong paint colors, to fires, to the most recent and worst possible stroke of bad luck… her head chef walking out. When a chef is recommended from France who also happens to be desperately handsome and charming, she feels her luck may have finally taken a turn for the better.
Cale cannot stand the smell of food and cannot microwave a thing, but when there is a chance that Alex could be the life mate he has searched the world for two thousand years for, he is willing to fake it. When he finds her stirring up more trouble than he counted on and someone putting her in danger, he finds she has awakened more than one hunger.
Attraction strikes the moment they meet but Alex will not think of dating a man who is working for her, no matter how strongly attracted she is to him. And Cale, although more sure the longer he is around her that he has at long last found his perfect match, is not sure how to convince her otherwise. Will he manage to convince her to take the chance of a lifetime or will she find out what he is before he can show her how he feels for her?
Sands has cooked up a paranormal feast with this comedic addition to the Argeneau series. Cale is all business and Alex is an artist. The combination of their personalities makes for a brilliant and humorous trip into the intricately crafted world of immortals that this series is known for. With the suspenseful twist of the restaurants mysterious chain of disasters, and the passionate romance of the main characters, this story is a well rounded tale that has only one flaw… it ends.
