An infusion of cash could not come at a better time for Deva Dunne Interiors, although Deva is not too sure about her new client. Francesco Grandese is rude, crude, and filthy rich, but what surprises Deva more is his exquisite eye for quality antiques.

After the explosion of their friend’s restaurant, Victor Rossi is on high alert where Deva is concerned. As a police lieutenant, he has plenty of experience dealing with men like Grandese, although giving Deva an order is like waving a red flag in her face.

Completely redoing a house on Rum Row could put Deva’s business on the map, setting her up as one of the top interior designers in Florida. Saying no just because Rossi thinks Grandese is a little shady is not an option, even if Deva fears Rossi is right. While the death of Grandese’s cousin is another shocker, Deva is in too deep to quit now. This could be a real turning point in her career, but will it also mean the end of her relationship with Rossi?

Deva has an eye for detail that bodes very well for an interior designer, maybe not so much as an amateur sleuth. Thankfully she is well aware of this fact and while she beats theories to death in her head, I really like that she does not try to act like she is a star detective. As irritated as Rossi gets with Deva he understands her position. What really gets him fired up is the wall she keeps trying to hide behind. No matter what happens, Deva and Rossi will butt heads, which makes their story and their relationship even more interesting.
