LOVE, REMEMBER ME
Rating: 4 Cups
Mistress Nyssa Wyndham is sixteen and the eldest in the family. She is like a wild English rose and quite unique. When she is asked to become one of the queen’s maidens, she is thrilled.
Varian de Winter, Earl of March, has a reputation of being dangerous. When his grandfather enlists his help in a small matter that involves Nyssa, Varian is wary about doing as he asks.
Nyssa believes she can take care of herself and intends to marry for love. In all her years, she has never traveled away from her home. Now she has been given the opportunity to go to court to serve as one of the new queen’s maidens. Varian has always done what his grandfather asks, but this time the deed could cause him to lose his head, not to mention Nyssa. She will only be given a mild drug, then taken to Varian’s bedchamber. What neither expects is to be forced into marriage, once discovered together. Unwilling to marry someone she does not love, she believes her reputation has not been ruined, even though others think otherwise. As time passes, Varian grows to love her, but can he convince her that his love is genuine?
Love, Remember Me carries the reader into a world of royalty and intrigue. The characters are refreshing, and I thoroughly enjoy reading about their culture and the atmosphere of their era. At times, this reader could almost get a feel of the characters expressions and actions through their dialogue. Ms. Small pens a story rich in history, along with loyalty, deceit and a blossoming love filled with romance. She makes convincing players that interact with the reader in this charming historical novel.
