Dillon Vancil has the perfect life … almost. He is the hottest bartender at the hottest gay club in Vegas, of which his boyfriend, a Greek god in the flesh, happens to be the owner. The only thing missing is a more definitive commitment from Liron Sidiris. Yet every night, after their wild passions have been sated, instead of asking him to stay, Liron sends a disappointed Dillon back to his own apartment.

Of course, Liron has his reasons for sending his lover away. Little does Dillon know that his boyfriend is really a four-hundred-year-old vampire. Liron has never fallen in love with a human, but something about this cocoa-skinned, green-eyed dream has him hooked and falling hard. For a while now he has been thinking of telling Dillon what he really is and maybe even changing him at some point. But not now. For now, everything is just as Liron likes it.

The dangers of Liron’s world become something neither of them can ignore when his brother, Mikolas, catches up with him. Mikolas is a vampire with a grudge, and he is determined to get even with Liron. That means taking away the one thing he cares about most in the world: Dillon. It is a fight to the death to save Dillon, one which might mean that Liron must make the ultimate decision--to change his lover forever.

I am all for short fiction, but it felt like there was too much content crammed into too few pages. There was a real story here that begged for development. Instead, I felt as if I was reading the synopsis; there was not enough for me to sink my teeth into (no pun intended). Nevertheless, the story is entertaining, I liked the main characters Dillon and Liron, and the book gave me a satisfying ending. I would say My Vampire Boyfriend is adequate; it holds its own against other books of this particular sub-genre.
