NOBILITY RANCH Lady Cecily Thorndale travels to America after receiving the last letter from her fiancé. He’s trying to delay the wedding again, and she is not waiting any longer. She loves Charles, and she knows they are meant to be together. Charles Worthington, Lord Silsbee, hopes that in delaying the wedding, Lady Cecily will find another suitor and call off their engagement. He never expected her to make the journey from England to Texas. Not only is he surprised, he cannot help but think his father sent her to bring him home. Going home is the last thing he wants to do. Lady Cecily has always loved Charles, but he was older and knew her only as a girl. Even when the engagement was announced, she was still so young. The Cecily that shows up in Texas is a woman, and his attraction to her is dangerous. Though he has feelings for Cecily, Charles likes Texas and has no intention of marrying her and going back to England to take orders from his father. Nobility Ranch is a delightful book. I instantly liked both Cecily and Charles and understood both of their positions. I enjoyed the way Ms. Myers wrote their story; letting us know that they did need to communicate, but not constantly repeating herself throughout the book. I felt sadness and joy as these two worked on their relationship and on themselves. I was also happy that the book did not flow exactly as I thought it would after the first few chapters; and I was excited to see how it would end for this couple. Jane
