Kirsty Kennedy is a therapist who possibly needs therapy. She listens to her patients and she hears echoes of her own thoughts. Little does she know that seeking Mr. Right is unnecessary, as he will walk through her door as a patient.
Robert “Robbie” Mitchell suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder due to his service in Iraq. His pain is so severe that he is unable to see the answer to his healing staring him in the face.
Kirsty meets two potential boyfriends through speed dating. Neither rings her bell but the man she really wants is off limits because of their doctor/patient relationship. When all seems lost she throws caution to the wind but will she be able to face her future in time?
Amanda Winters writes an outstanding novel about how even therapists could use a little therapy. I found the vulnerable Kristy every bit as intriguing as the wounded soldier she secretly loves. The story flows nicely and proves to be a mirror into real lives and real relationships; easy for everyone to relate to. Nothing Like Romance is a perfect read for a glimpse into the loneliness that results from living life too fast and letting it all pass you by.
