Josie Villefranche owns the Hotel Josephine in New Orleans. A murder on her property has damaged business so much that she is in danger of losing her livelihood. When a handsome guest checks in, she is in danger of losing her heart as well.
Drew Morrison does not want Josie to know that he is there to scout out the possibility of purchasing her hotel for his client. He registers as a businessman attending a nearby convention to cover his real reason for being there. The last thing he expects is to develop feelings for Josie that may jeopardize his mission.
The Hotel Josephine is located in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The hotel was a brothel at one time, and has been in the Villefranche family for many years. A mysterious homicide has caused a dramatic decline in patrons, but Josie is determined to hang on to her family legacy. The sparks of attraction between Josie and Drew drive the plot forward as they get to know each other. Will they be driven apart by the secrets Drew is keeping?
Drew and Josie are intriguing characters. Their story is interesting and believable. The love scenes are as hot and steamy as an old fashioned radiator. Ms. Carrington is a talented author who pens a terrific story that many are sure to enjoy as much as I do. If you enjoy reading about the contemporary southern way of life, then this is the book for you.
