Amy Winslow has just found out she is pregnant and her fiancée has been cheating on her. She turns to her brother for support and falls in love with the little town of Newburg. With all the mess in her life, she needs something to take her mind off everything. She just did not expect it to be in the form of Casey McKenna.

Casey Mckenna, a marine veterinarian, is taking time off work after losing his beloved manatee. When he ends up just off the rocks of Point Surrender, he realizes that something strange is happening. He is battling his own personal demons and the truth begins to come through.

Amy and Case know that something weird is happening in the lighthouse. Seeing people standing on the cliff and jumping and the lone figure of a man who appears and disappears at random, lead Amy to discover the truth. Over a period of weeks, as Amy learns the true story behind Point Surrender, she and Case grow closer together. In the end, she wonders if there could be a future for them.

A suspense filled novel and unrequited love story, this is truly a wonderful read. Case and Amy are two people hurting very much over their pasts. Include ghosts and the mystery behind the lighthouse and you will feel for each character and what they are enduring. The supporting characters are involved in the story as much as the main. You feel the sorrow and hurt and sometimes, the hopelessness flowing from the book in waves at times. A truly heart touching story and one with an ending that will surprise. I truly enjoyed reading this story and the suspense kept me hooked to the very last page.
