ROYAL PROTOCOL, DEFENDING THE CROWN
Rating: 4 Cups
For years, Prince Benedek Kerkay has been following the career of famous opera singer Rayne Williams. To say he has a bit of a crush on her is putting it mildly, but her continuous rebuffs have only stoked his fire for her.
Most of the men Rayne encounters during her tours want only one thing, and rich and powerful men are the worst of the worst. She has been burned more than once by men claiming to love her and has found it much easier to keep her heart safely encased behind very thick walls.
The opening night of the opera house has finally arrived after years of painstaking work for Benedek, and having Rayne sing this night is a dream come true. He may finally get the chance to meet her face to face and hopefully charm her into a little extra-curricular activity after the performance. He would love nothing more than to spend the evening with her, but he knows it can never amount to more than that. His plans literally blow up in his face, and although his evening with Rayne is spent running for their lives, his heart has found its target.
The pounding pace of this book begins in the opening pages and does not stop or even let up. The action and suspense are thoroughly exciting, and the characters filled with a depth of emotion that perfectly rounds out the story. The size of the rebellion may be more excessive than necessary, but the truth behind it is fascinating. Benedek and Rayne are intense and make for a fantastic read as they traverse the catacombs of Valtria.
