Clara wants nothing more than to get out of her engagement to a man who is ready to take her to India once they say their nuptials.

Ned has inherited a farm from his uncle but he has no idea what he is doing.

Seeing the beautiful Clara, Ned is instantly attracted to the younger woman. When she guides him in the right direction towards running the farm, it makes the handsome man that much more attracted to her. But Clara’s family is not happy about her spending time with a man they see as being unfit to run the farm. Will Clara and Ned get their happily ever after or will Clara end up with the man determined to whisk her away to a different country?

I had a hard time getting into Scandal at the Farmhouse. The plot was fine, it was mainly the telling of the story I could not get into. The main problem was the story was being told by Ms. Young versus being described. On top of that, I could not really grasp what Ned would see in Clara as she was so manipulative and spoiled. This seemed like it should have been more of a tale of a man’s lust for a young woman and not the love he claimed to feel.
