After twenty years of being married to a man who seemed to only find pleasure for himself and not her, Tanwen Evans is determined to seek out what she likes. Now that her marriage has ended, she travels to a resort that specializes in what she hopes will be her passionate salvation.

Bryan Hamilton is a Dom through and through. While he found himself bored with the usual BDSM scene, he finds that quickly changing when he sees Tanwen walking around the Sodom Virtual Reality Resort.

The special part about the resort is that the passionate encounters that Tanwen hopes to find will be through virtual reality. What she does not realize is that the man she bumped into in the reception area has targeted her as his next sexual project. What starts out as a purely sexual fantasy for Bryan and Tanwen soon turns to more as their virtual reality becomes an affair for real. But Tanwen knows that their sexual relationship can only end in heartbreak as she lives in a different state than Bryan does and he has not even said anything about wanting more. Can a Dom who thought he had lost his interest in his world hold on to a natural sub who never expected to find love in a place that caters to a virtual fantasy?

Sodom and the Phoenix is one hot and unique read. The luscious encounters that Bryan and Tanwen experience in the virtual world are quite seductive to say the least. I love how I got to watch Ms. Mayburn bring Tanwen out of her sexual shell. While she still maintained her air of innocence and shyness, a beautiful confidence seems to grow from her, thanks to Bryan's strong guidance. While the ending does give the reader a sense of finality, I wish it could have had more closure so I could have had that final sigh of happiness I seem to get when a book comes together at the end.
