Lee Fontana is one of the last of the old-fashioned train robbers. Seventy-two years old and facing another prison sentence and increasingly bad health, the old con dreams of digging up his stash and moving to Mexico.

Morgan Blake is an upstanding business owner in his community and too honest for his own good. His loyalty to an old friend cost him his freedom.

The Devil is still trying to collect the debt that famous train robber Russell Dobbs cheated him out of. He has cursed Dobbs heirs. Lee Fontana, his grandson, has been wrestling with the legacy his entire life and thinks he has also won. Little does he know--there are other heirs. His great niece Sammie’s father, Morgan Blake, has been incarcerated for a crime he did not commit, and Misto, the ghost cat, is determined to bring the family together and clear Morgan’s name.

This is an unusually crafted story. It reads like a novel for older children, but the subject matter and situations are much too graphic and violent for a children’s story. The authors obviously have a complete and thorough knowledge of the Federal Prison System. The story is well-plotted and the characters vivid, making for an interesting read.
