Kara’s father trained her to be a thief, nothing else. He also told her that if she got caught, she would be on her own. At sixteen, she made a mistake and ended up in the custody of ACORP. They became her family; training her and giving her the education she asked for. The next time she makes a mistake, it brings her in contact with a man she cannot forget, but he works for the father who abandoned her.
Lachlan Mitchell is a brilliant thief. Possibly the best, until he meets a woman who runs rings around him and his men. She is the daughter of the master thief that he is profiling for ACORP.
When a beyond priceless artifact is stolen by notorious thief James Proctoramis, the ACORP operatives must decide where their loyalties lie to defeat him.
This is a story full of non-stop action; both of the romantic and suspense kind. Kara is a great character, very strong yet with hidden vulnerabilities. Lachlan is a magnetic character that will make you angry one minute and forgive him the next. The plot line is very well written and the supporting characters are great. The only problem I had was that the characters switch back and forth between British and American slang, and it can be a little distracting, but the story is too good to let that get in the way.
