Lady Averill Mortagne has major problems. Her father keeps trying to pawn her off to a man as an eligible bride, but they are not falling for her, mostly due to her looks and the stutter she has.

When Kade Stewart first wakes up from an injury, he hears a beautiful voice. Not being able to see, he comes to enjoy the times his personal angel visits him with tales of her childhood.

The fact that Kade cannot see Averill is a bonus on her part, because she can now visit with the man without stuttering and making a complete fool of herself. Kade soon is able to see but keeps it a secret, for he has found Averill to be pretty and does not want her to feel awkward in his presence. Before she knows it, Averill finds herself married to the handsome Scot and on an adventure of a lifetime. Unfortunately, someone is out to make sure it is Kade’s last, as one death attempt after another occurs, leaving Averill to wonder who is trying to kill her husband.

The Hellion and the Highlander is a witty, romantic, adventurous, sexy novel with one entertaining scenario after another. Ms. Sands uses her comedic voice to pack this historical book with so many delightful scenes that the reader cannot help but want more. I thought the fact that Kade and Averill got to know each other without his sight getting in the way a plus, giving them a chance to become friends first. I almost fell out of my chair laughing when the maids gave Averill advice about “tupping” her husband. This is one tale that you will not want to miss and is a guaranteed fantastic read as far as I am concerned!
